Amarsi & Co – Drone Search

1. Service Overview

Amarsi & Co Drone Search is a voluntary, community-focused service operated solely by Jay Amarsi.

The purpose of this service is to provide aerial visual support in the search for missing pets using legally compliant drone operations.

This service does not guarantee the location, recovery, or return of any animal.

Drone Search is an assistance-only service and does not replace ground searches, professional tracking, or animal rescue services.

2. Nature of the Service

By requesting this service, you understand and agree that:

  • This service is free of charge to those within 10 miles of the Chesterfield area with no obligations.

  • There will be a £0.45 per mile charge, plus a £20 call out charge for searches outside of this area, which is not payable unless a drone has been deployed and has physically become ‘airborne’.

  • All searches are conducted at my discretion, based on safety, legality, and availability.

  • I do not capture, handle, or physically retrieve animals.

  • I provide aerial observation only, and any findings must be followed up by the owner or appropriate professionals.

  • Results are not guaranteed due to terrain, weather, signal conditions, and pet behaviour.

3. Requesting Assistance

Submitting a request does not guarantee acceptance or attendance.

I reserve the right to decline or postpone a request for reasons including (but not limited to):

  • Unsafe weather conditions

  • Legal or regulatory restrictions

  • Airspace limitations

  • Land access issues

  • High-risk environments

  • Personal availability

  • Conflicts with the Drone Code or CAA regulations

A response will be provided as soon as possible to confirm whether assistance is feasible.

4. Land Access & Permissions

Drone Search may involve flying over private, agricultural, or restricted land.
It is the requester’s responsibility to:

  • Obtain permission from landowners where necessary

  • Provide accurate information about land boundaries

  • Ensure safe and lawful access for ground search teams

I reserve the right not to fly in any location where permission cannot be verified or safety cannot be ensured.

5. Safety & Compliance

All flights are conducted in accordance with:

  • The UK CAA Drone Code

  • Open Category regulations

  • A2 CofC certification requirements

  • Operator ID and Flyer ID obligations

  • Local airspace and legal restrictions

I will never operate a drone:

  • In unsafe or high-risk conditions

  • Over crowds or gatherings

  • Beyond visual line of sight (VLOS)

  • In areas prohibited or restricted by law

  • Contrary to the Drone Code, even at the owner’s request

Safety always takes priority over search activity.

6. Use of Images, Video & Data

Any aerial images, videos, or mapping data collected during a search may be shared with the pet owner for search purposes only.

I will not:

  • Share imagery publicly without permission

  • Record or store personal information unnecessarily

  • Use footage for marketing without explicit consent

Images may occasionally be used anonymously for training or awareness unless the owner requests otherwise.

7. Liability

By requesting this service, you acknowledge that:

  • Drone Search is voluntary and offered “as is”

  • No guarantee is made regarding outcomes or results

  • I am not liable for loss, injury, damage, or missed sightings

  • Owners remain responsible for ground searching and recovery efforts

Owners must exercise judgement and take appropriate steps following any information provided by the drone search.

8. Volunteer Participation

Volunteers may be invited to support the service, including:

  • Additional drone pilots

  • Dog walkers or hikers

  • Landowners or farmers

  • Community members assisting ground searches

Volunteers operate at their own risk and must follow safety guidance.

Volunteers are not employees of Amarsi & Co and act independently.
